A2 PRODUCTIONS - EVALUATION

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
·       How does your main production use or challenge the conventions of real media texts?
Think about:   form, narrative, genre, representation, style, delivery, introduction, title, title text, content, images, mise-en-scene (costume, lighting, actors, make-up, props, mise-en-scene, etc.
·       How does your first subsidiary task use or challenge conventions of real existing media texts?
Think about: style, content, layout, size, colour design, language, genre, representation, use of images, mise-en-scene, font, text, etc.
·       How does your secondary subsidiary task use or challenge conventions of real existing media texts?
Think about: style, content, layout, size, colour design, language, genre, representation, use of images, mise-en-scene, font, text, etc
·       MULTIMEDIA:  Film a directors commentary analysing your film
·       MULTIMEDIA: Film a Quicktime screen recording discussing your print production

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
·       How do the texts combine?
·       What similarities do they have?
·       What differences are there?
·       What are the shared elements, i.e. images, font, titles, target audience, genre, language, etc.
·       How does one text help understand the others?
·       How do they all communicate similar themes and messages?
·       MULTIMEDIA:  Create a diagram (see Chesca’s blog) pointing out similarities

What have you learned from your audience feedback?
·       Who are your target audience?  How have you attempted to target them?
·       Include a questionnaire asking what people think of your project?
·       What is the strongest element on the project?
·       What is the weakest?
·       What would people change about your project?
·       Where would people imagine your productions would be viewed / read / bought?
·       MULTIMEDIA:  Include a filmed interview / focus group of people commenting on your project
·       MULTIMEDIA: include screenshots of comments people have left on Facebook / Youtube about your project
·       MUTIMEDIA: Include graphs of the responses to your questionnaires

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
  • Discuss the hardware you used, how you used it, why, and what you learned:  cameras, video cameras, etc.
  • ·       Discuss the software you used, exactly how you used it, why and what you learned
  • e.g. Final Cut, Photoshop, InDesign, iWeb
  • ·       Discuss another programmes, e.g. youtube, facebook, slideshare, etc and how they have been used
  • Discuss Blogger and how it has helped, or hindered your work
  • ·       MULTIMEDIA: Record a directors commentary discussing the technology
  • ·       MULTIMEDIA: Record a screen recording of your print productions discussing the technologies used
